Van Insulating, lining and acoustic carpeting
All vans benefit from being correctly lined and insulated. But this is often done badly and incorrectly even by some of the well known conversion companies.
Insulation
One of the most important steps in converting your van, or even just lining it is the insulation. A lot of companies out there think it is ok to just fill the cavities with household insulation such as Rockwool or Seletex. We have even seen vans done using expanding builders foam.. Expensive mistake!!!
All the above will cause condensation on the inside of the panels, which will then start to rust from the inside out, None of which will give the required levels of heat retention and sound deadening..
To do the job properly we use a fire retardent, closed cell spray on foam. This attaches to the panel and does not leave any air gap for condensation. It also sound deadens the panel making a huge difference to noise levels. We also fill all the cavities in the rear that you cannot fill with other products ensuring the best insulation and noise deadening possible.
Lining and carpeting
There are lots of different qualities of acoustic carpet, just like there are lots of different qualities of household carpet..
So do you want to use the equivelent of a 99p per metre cord carpet that will need repalceing in 12 months, or do you want to use an equivelant quality Wilton...
Our acoustic carpet is of the same quality that is used in trimming coaches, designed to last the life of the coach, easy to clean and easy to form around complex shapes. As with the rest of our conversion, we build it to last.
Our acoustic carpet is available in many colours as per the sample pictures to the right. We normally have most in stock, if not it is availble to order next day.
